FAQ’S

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of businesses do you work with?

We work with owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and stakeholders across a range of sectors. Our clients include business owners, directors, lenders, and professional advisers seeking practical financial advisory, restructuring, or transaction support.

Based in Cork, we advise clients across Munster and throughout Ireland. We are happy to travel to a client’s premises or their  professional advisor’s offices.

SCARP is a formal rescue process for viable small and micro companies in Ireland. It is essentially a lower-cost, largely administrative alternative to examinership, designed to restructure debt, protect employment and give the business a chance to survive without going into liquidation.

Early engagement is always beneficial and recommended. Whether you are navigating growth, considering a transaction or facing financial difficulties, seeking early professional advice allows for more options and better outcomes.

A CVL is used when a company is insolvent and cannot pay its debts, so a liquidator is appointed to wind it down and deal with creditors.
An MVL is used when a company is solvent and can pay all debts in full, allowing surplus funds to be distributed to shareholders in a tax efficient manner.
In simple terms: CVL = insolvent closure, MVL = solvent closure.
